As expected it looks like pod2g and the gang are gearing up to officially launch the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak tomorrow morning during the “Hack in the Box” conference in Amsterdam. I say tomorrow morning only because it will be late afternoon by then in Amsterdam…
The “Jailbreak Live” event will happen tomorrow and is hosted by pod2g and company. During this event, the jailbreak will more than likely be demonstrated and officially launched.
iDB took a closer look at the event’s schedule:
Since Amsterdam is 6 hours ahead of EST, and each day of the conference appears to be between 09:00~ and 18:00~ hours local time, the earliest we would see a release is at 3AM EST on Friday, May 25th. […]
This means the Corona event will start at 5:30AM EST on Friday, May 25th, and the Absinthe event will follow shortly thereafter at 7:00 AM EST. It’s very possible that the jailbreak will be released sometime within that ballpark window. Basically, I’d definitely keep my eyes peeled on Friday morning if I were you.
As pointed out by iDB, there seems to (hopefully) be a typo in the schedule (seen below). The official agenda from the conferences website clearly shows that the keynote will be on the iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak. I just hope they’re not planning on talking about that and we’re all completely wrong. But according to recent tweets from pod2g the jailbreak is definitely coming this week so it’s a safe bet that the release is happening here.
So keep locked to your computers tomorrow morning. We’ll have the latest on the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak as it’s uncovered. You’ll also be able to find a tutorial video(s) on our official YouTube channel if you’re unsure how to jailbreak your device!
