Your video was a lot more helpful than the one on the website. I purchased my kit via LightmyiPhone. I am having one hell of a time trying to get this thing to work. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I am certain it comes down to the placement of the red cable. Any advice you can lend? QUite frustrating. Thanks for your time and thank you for that video you made.

Make sure you have a distinct Z shape on the red cable. Everything should work fine if you follow the instructions to the “t”. But you have to be dead on. It must be close to perfect. Let me know if you have any luck. The red cable just has to rest on the connection point.

Just install it exactly as instructed, and turn off iPhone and power on again, use it until the battery basically runs out of battery, and recharge, and continue using as normal, it should soon after, start working fine, good luck, please let me know if it worked. good luck

I have a tutorial specific to the iPhone 4 GSM. Something wasn’t done correctly or you wouldn’t have that issue. Unless you have an app open that is constantly sending data. That could be it as well.

      Hi:
I noticed, that if you pair up your iphone to a Bluetooth device ( headset, speaker or other) and it becomes un-paired due to distance or other factors, your iphone will try to pair up, hence the light will stay on. Turn off your bluetooth, under settings, and it should work fine, if not try my other suggestion. Please let me know, if this worked for you. Thanks

      Hi:
Yes I have seen and notice with others that when you take a flash picture, especially at night ( try in a dark room ) a picture at night, a glare, or ghostly image appears , or the image is blurry.
I fixed this by putting a small strip of the black foamy sticker provided with the mod for use to hold and surround the LED, in the interior of the new back cover between the camera and the flash opening.
Just tape a small strip between the lens and the flash opening, as to avoid the flash light to bleed into the camera lens, good luck.

Great find. I personally haven’t had any issues with dark pictures using flash or any pictures for that matter, but that sounds like its a great solution.

    Hi there,

I installed the light mod kit to my iPhone 4 GSM. The problem I have noticed is that my wifi reception has lowered greatly, does anyone else have this issue too?

    Thanks

My wifi had decreased significantly as well. i used the ko gadget light mod. followed the connection points. unless there is another connection point i’m going to uninstall. also, while charging the light stays on the whole time. listening to pandora…always on even if the screen went blank.

Do you think I could connect the wires to something else so that it doesn’t light up when an app receives data? (i imagine it could be kind of annoying after some time)

Would it be possible to connect it to the speaker or vibrate ? In this case it would only light up when it rings or it’s on speakerphone I guess.

What else could I wire it to?

Also, I found the kits much cheaper on eBay. Do you know if there is any difference in quality between the ones on the website and eBay ones?

    Thanks for the video btw!

I can’t say whether or not you could connect it elsewhere because I’m not sure. I’m sure they engineered it as best they could.

It doesn’t turn on a lot though. Also I can’t confirm the quality of eBay stuff. But lightmyiphone just came out with an improved version 2 kit you can find on our homepage or at the link below. It doesn’t randomly turn on. Only when the screen is active. Check out the video. http://mcmx.in/JsLw2B
