Over the last couple of years, I’ve had the opportunity to test out a large handful of Bluetooth speakers. In my opinion, most of them offered the same generic functionality with different branding. Thankfully, IK Multimedia switches it up with iLoud. Not only is this an excellent tool for musicians, it’s probably one of the best Bluetooth speakers I’ve ever used.
Over the last few months, I’ve had the opportunity to demo Akai’s MPC Renaissance. In all honestly, I’ve never been a big MPC type of guy, but this fine piece of hardware and it’s software integration has changed my opinion.
Along with the release of iRig HD, IK Multimedia launched a brand new version of AmpliTube. Version 3.0 adds a brand new mutlitrack studio that’s perfect for getting out song ideas or complete compositions. Recently, I had the chance to get hands-on with iRig HD and AmpliTube 3.0 and put together a nice video demonstration.
In case you’re not familiar with it, Audiobus allows you to connect your favorite music production apps and recording between them. This technology is extremely helpful when producing music on an iOS device with multiple apps. As of today, two more apps from IK Multimedia have joined the Audiobus family.
Avid has finally announced Pro Tools 11 and I’m definitely looking forward to this release. It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard anything from Avid, but the news is finally here and I have all the details you’ve been waiting for.
