Apple To Launch Sub $300 ‘iPad Mini’ in Q3

A new report from NetEase, as translated by Kotaku, is stating that Apple is gearing up to produce 6 million of the mini iPads for launch in Q3 of 2012. The smaller tablet is rumered to be priced at $249 – $299 and apparently, Apple is using the mini iPad as a “counter attack”to compete with upcoming Windows 8 tablets.

It’s also noted that Foxconn, Apple main supplier, and Pegatron are working on manufacturing parts for the new “mini” iPad. And reports have been surfacing lately on Apple’s decision to compete with the Kindle and other economic friendly tablets.

Just a while back we told you John Gruber said Apple is “noodling” with the idea of a smaller or “mini” iPad. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. But if this new “iPad Nano” is real, I’d expect to hear something about it at the World Wide Developers Conference this year.

Would you buy an iPad Mini?
